John Obi Mikel Is Yet To Sign A Deal With Valencia

Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, has not agreed to a four-year-contract with Valencia, his agent Danny Shittu has said.

There have been reports that the Chelsea midfielder is on his way to La Liga side Valencia in the January transfer window. But according to Shittu the insinuations are wide off the mark.

Although the midfielder is attracting interest from Valencia but it’s still the same old story, with the Spanish club yet to meet his wage demand.

It was gathered that Valencia offered Mikel €2.8 million per season, far less than Mikel’s demand and his take home pay at Chelsea.

“It is not true that Mikel is joining Valencia on a four-year deal, the information is not correct, ” Shittu said.

AC Milan, Inter, Juventus and Marseille have been credited with an interest in Mikel, who has played nonstop at Chelsea for the past eleven years.

The 29-year-old has held talks with representatives of Chinese clubs Shanghai Greenland Shenhua, Guangzhou Evergrande , Hebei China Fortune and Beijing Guoan over a transfer this month.
