2686-2613 B.C.E.-The Step Pyramid is constructed and designed by Imhotep, High Priest of Heliopolis, during the reign of Pharaoh Zozer as a virtual stairway to Heaven, a means for man to be closer to his God, and the Pharaoh is seen as the God-king, God incarnate, as seen by the inhabitants of Egypt [later on in history, the Romans leaders will also be deified]. From this deification we get the term, ‘Apotheosis,’ which is the act of raising a mortal to the rank of God. The High Priest of Heliopolis, Imhotep, is accredited with performing miracles and healing temples are erected in his honor. In 525 B.C.E., Imhotep is deified [attains the status of a God]. This is the first recorded example of the “Deification of a person” who never claimed to be a god [Apotheosis]. If you should visit Washington D.C., go to the Capitol building and look up at the ceiling. You will see a painting of George Washington dressed in an ancient Roman tunic standing among the Gods of old. Is this a deification of George Washington similar to the Roman Emperors?
